Past Curfew — participant agreement & release
Read this in full. By ticking the boxes below and typing your name you
are signing a binding agreement.
1. What this event is
Past Curfew is an organised social drive on public roads.
It is not a race, not a time trial, and not a competition of
any kind. No prize, ranking or recognition is given for speed. Nothing about
this event authorises you to exceed a speed limit or break any traffic law.
2. Your vehicle and licence
You confirm that, for the whole event, the vehicle you enter is street
legal, currently registered, and covered by valid insurance, and that you
hold a valid driver’s licence for it. You are responsible for your
vehicle’s mechanical condition and roadworthiness.
3. Obeying the law
You agree to obey all traffic laws, speed limits and signals for the entire
duration of the event. You are solely responsible for any citation, fine,
penalty or prosecution you receive. Organisers may remove you from the event
immediately, without refund, for unsafe or unlawful driving.
4. Assumption of risk
You understand that driving carries real risk — including collision,
mechanical failure, road and weather conditions, the conduct of other
participants, and the conduct of the general public. These risks can result
in property damage, serious injury, disability or death. You
knowingly and voluntarily accept all such risks, whether or not they arise
from the negligence of anyone named in section 6.
5. Your passengers
You are responsible for everyone in your vehicle. You confirm each passenger
has been made aware of these risks and accepts them. Passengers under 18 may
only ride with the written consent of a parent or legal guardian, and you are
responsible for obtaining it.
6. Release of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, you release and agree not to sue
Past Curfew, its organisers, staff, volunteers, sponsors and partners
(together, the “Released Parties”) from any claim, demand, loss or
damage arising out of your participation — including claims based on the
negligence of a Released Party. You also agree to indemnify the Released
Parties against any claim brought by you, your passengers, or anyone claiming
through you.
7. Conduct
You will not consume alcohol or any impairing substance before or during the
event. Organisers may remove any participant at any time, for any reason, at
their sole discretion and without refund.
8. Photography and filming
You grant Past Curfew a perpetual, royalty-free right to photograph and film
you and your vehicle at the event, and to use that material to promote Past
Curfew and future events across any medium.
9. Your information
The details you submit are used to review your application and to contact you
about the event. They are not sold.
10. General
This agreement is governed by the laws of
[STATE — to be completed]. If any part of it is found
unenforceable, the rest remains in force. Typing your full name below is your
electronic signature and has the same effect as signing by hand.
If you do not agree to all of the above, do not submit this application.
